Based on the community principle of free software, “handilibre” is made with you and for you!
If you can be a simple user, you can also become an active participant!
Concretely, whether you are a disabled person, family, friend, carer, volunteer, professional you can access the following:
- A free, open-source, and collaborative operating system.
- Tutorials on software, plugins, maps, free culture social movements, social groups, and other existing projects open to you. They are sometimes linked to the provided operating system, but often independent.
- A database of disability-related websites.
This allows you to take action on several levels.
- Be a simple user.
- Translate (the website or an article).
- Add or contribute to an article.
- Guide the overall project by providing feedback via the contact page or directly in the forums located at the bottom of the articles.
- Provide clarifications, corrections, and contribute to the enrichment of a resource in the forums located at the bottom of the articles.
- Contribute to the running of the site through suggestions, technical assistance, discussions, and by reporting concerns or requests. This can be done by providing us with feedback via the contact page or directly in the forums located at the bottom of the articles.
- Participate in improving the tools presented by reporting bugs or suggestions. Since this often requires English speakers, we can also help those who are not. You can use the forums located at the bottom of the articles.
- Guide someone who would like to participate in a project mentioned by using the forums located at the bottom of the articles.
- Suggest other things…
Like any project, it has its limits. The essence of the project (the possible interactions between disabilities and free culture) is defined by the operating rules.
